The Police Report of The Riot

  The following is the official Dunnellon Police Report of the incident at the Lion's Club last Thursday evening. We believe that Councilwoman Hilton should be commended for her defense of the 1st Amendment, as well as the right of assembly guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution.

  The presenters at this meeting were some of the finest individuals I have ever met, and they are a credit to our community. The attendees were polite and peaceful, and exhibited the utmost civility, contrary to the allegations of the person who called the police. The mayor and his lackeys failed to disrupt a legal and constitutional meeting, and the wishes of the Founding Fathers were upheld.

  The fatal flaw in the mayor's plan is his underestimating the ability of the citizenry to read the U.S. Constitution, as well as Dunnellon's Comprehensive Plan.

  We urge you to attend the next City Council meeting on August 9th, and let the council know of your opposition to this outright travesty known as The Rainbow River Ranch. No longer will threats and intimidation serve to silence our voice. We are organized, and we vote! Let the council know that.
